China is a land of long-standing cultural foundation. The Chinese people with disabilities are exploring the development of Special Art. Selected from hundreds of disabled persons' art troupes, a group of special artists was formed from four national disabled persons' arts festivals. In 1987, the China Disabled People's Performing Arts Troupe came into existence composed of elite of special art in China.

    These artists have traversed the length and breadth of the motherland and attended every national arts festivals in China. They traveled across the oceans to perform in almost 30 countries in Asia, Europe, North America and Oceania. They participated in the celebration events to commemorate the UN Decade of Disabled Persons as well as the First International Very Special Arts Festival. From heads of state or government to art celebrities and common audiences, all of them couldn't help getting touched in admiration by their consummate performances. They were praised as "Ambassadors of Beauty and Friendship".

    A glory of fourteen years, a present to American People. Today, with the world disabled persons' mutual wishes and Chinese people's tender regards, the China Disabled People's Performing Arts Troupe, composed of 13 with hearing impairment, 11 with physical disability, 4 with visual impairment, and 1 with mental retardation, come to the U.S.A. to present to American people their newly-created masterpiece of special art---"My Dream". This "dream" comes true with the support of Chinese renowned artists. It is the combination of arts, love and human value.

    To appreciate: the blind, who cannot see notes, performing music perfectly; the deaf, who cannot hear, dancing elegantly and lightly accompanying music; the amputees whose deeply moving artistic postures; and the mentally retarded, who cannot read notes, conducting an entire symphony orchestra with profound gestures at an professional standard......

    To feel: the dignity of mankind, the value of life and living, the charm of artistic grace, the fortitude of will and the greatness of love for all livings on this earth......
