| For more than 50 years now, athletes with disabilities have been testing their accuracy and precision in archery competitions. The first organized games date back to 1948 in England when athletes competed in the Stoke Mandeville Games. Today, traditions of excellence continue in the sport with both standing and wheelchair athletes competing in women's and men's categories. Outstanding examples of strength and clear focus are evident in all competitions. The Paralympic program includes singles, doubles and team events, and the competition and scoring procedures are identical to those used in the Olympic Games. |
